Rescuers who participated in search efforts in Zemo Ponichala to be given monetary awards
The rescuers, who participated in search efforts on the site of the blast in Zemo Ponichala settlement of Tbilisi, will be given monetary awards – Shalva Khutsishvili, acting Head of Emergency Situations Management Service said.
Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met with about 50 rescuers and thanked them for their work. Fortification works of the bloc of apartments damaged as a result of the blast in Zemo Ponichala settlement of Tbilisi are ongoing.
The blast occurred in Zemo Ponichala settlement on November 15 presumably due to the gas leak, which caused the collapse of the 3rd and 4th floors of the building. The explosion claimed lives of a young woman and a child. Their dead bodies were found in ruins after 7-hour-long rescue efforts.
