Relatives of ex-president Saakashvili attend European Parliament joint debate

Giuli Alasania and Eduard Saakashvili, the mother and son of jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, showed up at the European Parliament on Wednesday.

Saakashvili’s relatives told journalists they came to attend the joint debate – Preparation for the European Council meeting, which will decide on the EU membership application of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

Following the debate, Giuli Alasania and Eduard Saakashvili said they would hold meetings with almost every MEP working on Georgia’s issue.
