The rehabilitation project of Gudiashvili Square starts – the aim of the project is to rehabilitated one of the oldest districts of the capital, develop a large tourist route in the historic part of the city and create comfortable and safe environment for the residents.
According to Tbilisi City Hall, the rehabilitation works consist of several stages, including: the rehabilitation of engineering-communication networks, the restoration of cultural heritage monuments and apartment buildings. Within the frame of the project, up to 30 buildings, including up to 20 monuments of cultural heritage, will be fully restored.
The entire area will be illuminated, street infrastructure will be installed and adapted for people with disabilities. The rehabilitation project is financed from the budget of Tbilisi City Hall. It costs 50 million GEL.
The works will conclude for the end of 2019. Tbilisi Development Fund is implementing the Project.
