“Our ambition is to develop a unified regional development policy and to do our utmost to foster greater equality and lessen disparities between regions,” stated Minister of Regional Development Kakha Guledani during an interpellation in Parliament.

He emphasised that standards, accessible infrastructure, jobs, services, education, and other essentials must be maintained across all regions.

“Thank you for this opportunity. Today, I have the chance to speak from the parliamentary rostrum about the Ministry of Regional Development, its plans, and the challenges faced by our newly established agency. For me, this is more than just a question-and-answer session; it is a genuine dialogue with the highest legislative body. As you are aware, the Ministry of Regional Development was founded in April of last year. I would like to take this moment to thank each of my team members. The dedicated professionals gathered from various agencies, with their hard work, expertise, and sense of responsibility, have succeeded in establishing a new structure in the shortest possible time.

Our goal remains clear: to implement a cohesive regional development policy that ensures greater equality and reduces disparities between regions. When I speak of equality, I do not mean that all regions should be developed identically; rather, I mean that every region should have access to standardised, accessible infrastructure, employment opportunities, services, education, and so on.

Today, I am prepared to discuss in detail the challenges we have faced and the achievements we have made in this brief period. I am also ready to answer your questions honestly and directly, because I believe that transparency and accountability are among the most significant accomplishments of our government,” concluded Kakha Guledani.
