Reference prices come into effect for over 300 chronic and oncological medicines

Reference prices came into effect from March 18 for over 300 chronic and oncological medicines, the Ministry of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection announced.

According to the Ministry, the upper limit of the price already applies to more than 1100 medicines, and the list of medicines will expand in the near future. If the pharmacies sell medicines at a higher price, they will be fined.

“The goal of the reform is to reduce the cost of medicine in the country. According to the change, pharmaceutical companies should guide by the established prices. If the pharmacies sell medicines at a higher price, they will be fined,” reads the statement.
