A protest rally under the slogan ‘IDPs against unfair housing policy’ was held in front of the Georgian Agency for Internally Displaced Persons, Ecomigrants and Livelihood, on Wednesday.
Participants emphasized that more than three decades after displacement, a significant number of IDPs continue to reside in temporary accommodations, primarily in dormitories. They expressed concerns about both the pace and transparency of the apartment allocation process.
The protesters also paid tribute to Zamir Kvekveskiri, an IDP from Ochamchire, who tragically passed away in the hospital after self-immolating outside the Agency.
