“The throwing of eggs, the use of hate speech, and acts of offence are absolutely unacceptable. Any actions that may constitute a crime must be addressed appropriately,” stated Public Defender Levan Ioseliani.

According to the Public Defender, all individuals involved in violent acts must be held legally accountable.

“I am not entirely aware of the specific details of the incident, but I unequivocally condemn any scenario where individuals are attacked with projectiles, such as eggs, or subjected to verbal assaults simply for expressing differing viewpoints. Such behaviour is antithetical to a healthy political culture, which our country should strive to cultivate. Respect for diverse opinions is fundamental. If any actions display signs of criminal behaviour, those facts must be investigated effectively,” he emphasized.

Video footage circulating on social media depicts former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili being pelted with eggs at Tbilisi International Airport upon her return from the Munich Security Conference.
