Prosecutor's Office indicts one individual for inflicting financial loss on Georgian citizens

The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office indicted one individual for inflicting financial loss on Georgian citizens by creating a fake website for purchasing tickets to attend the concert of British singer Sting.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) determined through a conducted investigation that the charged individual created a fake fishing website bsafest.online, in 2024, which he advertised via Facebook and offered tickets to attend Sting’s concert in Tbilisi.

Upon choosing the number of tickets, the website automatically redirected the customer to the online payment platform and the amount was transferred to the charged person’s account.

The investigation is in progress under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, while the indicted individual faces 5-7 years in prison. The Prosecutor’s Office will shortly apply to the court to apply punishment measures against the charged individual.
