Prosecutor's Office indicts Lelo leader

The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has indicted Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the Lelo party, for failing to comply with the lawful requirements of the parliamentary interim investigative commission under Article 349 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigative commission, which is investigating government activities from 2003 to 2012, summoned Mamuka Khazaradze to a hearing on March 25.

Despite receiving a document signed by the Commission Chair on March 22, along with a warning regarding potential consequences, the Lelo leader chose not to attend the commission meeting.

The Prosecutor’s Office plans to apply to the court for the imposition of punitive measures within the timeframe specified by law.
