Prosecutor's Office to appeal Court's judgement into Khorava Street case in the Appeal Court
The prosecution does not agree with Court’s judgement into Khorava Street murder case and will appeal it in the Tbilisi Appeal Court – Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia published a statement.
The Tbilisi City Court on the juveniles’ murder case on Khorava Street, acknowledged upon its verdict the juvenile defendants G.B. and G.J. as partially convicted.
G.J. was found guilty under the article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, part II Subparagraph “b” (in aggravating circumstances – with preliminary awareness intentional homicide of the juvenile L.D.), as for G.J. he was found guilty under the article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, Part II Subparagraph “b” (in aggravating circumstances – with preliminary awareness intentional homicide of the juvenile D.S.)
At a sitting of verdict, the court sentenced the juvenile convict G.B. to deprivation of liberty, for a term of 14 years and another juvenile convict G.J. was sentenced for a term of 13 years of deprivation. In accordance with the Code of Juvenile Justice, the sentence was reduced by one-fourth and finally convicted G.B. was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months imprisonment, while convicted G.J. was sentenced to 9 years and 9 months imprisonment.
