Procedural Affairs and Rules Committee endorses European Socialists' registration

The parliamentary Procedural Affairs and Rules Committee has given its support for the registration of the European Socialists political group.

Davit Matikashvili, the Committee Chair, stated that the European Socialists had formally requested the Parliament to register their group.

“The Committee reviewed the submitted documentation and determined that it complies with the sixth point of Article 228 of the Parliament’s regulations. The political group meets all necessary requirements, and we found that all prerequisites were in place for us to endorse their registration,” he remarked.

Following the committee’s conclusion, the bureau also approved the registration of the European Socialists.

On February 5, the European Socialists announced their intention to establish a new opposition group within the parliament.
