Private vehicles to be banned from bus lanes

Effective February 8, private vehicles will not be allowed to drive on bus lanes, Tbilisi City Hall announced on Sunday.

Earlier, Tbilisi City Hall temporarily allowed private vehicles to drive on bus lanes in a bid to curb the traffic in Georgia’s capital.

The Georgian Government decided to lift coronavirus-related restrictions from Monday.

Public transport will recommence service throughout Georgia on February 8. Busses, minibusses, and underground will operate in Tbilisi till 9 pm every day except for weekends.

Wearing a face mask during a journey is mandatory. Police will handle facemask rule breaches in public transport, Tbilisi Transport Company reported today.
