Prime Minister: We will defend our interests and uphold path of peace firmly

“We will defend our national interests to the very end, and it is clear to all that the government not only made the right choice in pursuing the path of peace but also ensured that our country remains steadfast on this course,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze live on Imedi TV.

As the head of government highlighted, Georgian society recognises that Georgian Dream is the only force capable of maintaining peace within Georgia, ensuring stability, and simultaneously fostering economic growth.

“The primary responsibility we bear is for peace across the country. We have made significant progress in this regard. Over four years, Georgia experienced five attempts at revolution, yet we succeeded in restoring peace to our political landscape. We are also responsible for economic development, which cannot exist without peace and stability. Here, too, we have excellent data; we rank first in Europe in terms of five-year economic growth.

Over the past five years, Georgia’s average annual economic growth has been 9.3 per cent, a figure without parallel in Europe. We are leaders in economic growth. That is our responsibility; everything else is detail.

There remain some unjust attitudes towards Georgia, and we hope these will change. Nonetheless, we are prepared for any challenge. We have demonstrated through our experience that we are the only force capable of maintaining peace, ensuring stability, and stimulating economic development simultaneously. Our track record over the past several years confirms this,” Irakli Kobakhidze concluded.
