Prime Minister leads government coordination commission to address food price increases
A government coordination commission has been established to tackle rising food prices, with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at its helm.
According to the government administration, the relevant decree was approved during yesterday’s cabinet session.
Levan Zhorzholiani, head of the government administration, explained that the commission will include ministers from pertinent sectors, representatives from the government administration, and officials from the Competition Agency.
“The Prime Minister spoke extensively about the rise in food prices and emphasised that this issue warrants a deeper investigation. Often, price hikes are illogical and have a direct impact on consumers. A government commission has been formed to enhance coordination and address this challenge more effectively,” said Zhorzholiani.
