The President of Georgia welcomes the simplification of procedures of granting dual citizenship. He made the regarding statement during the forum dedicated to the Diaspora Day.
“The law on dual citizenship is being developed in the Parliament. I welcome the law to be adopted by Parliament as soon as possible. I would like to clarify that dual citizenship procedure is set, procedural processes are to be passed and it slows down the process. If there is a much more liberal approach to the issue, the dual citizenship will not require complex procedures. I will be glad for it and I will welcome prompt adoption of the law,” the President said during his speech at the Forum.
Georgian Diaspora Forum “Strong Diaspora for United Georgia” is being held in Tbilisi. Forum is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia.
