President welcomes awarding Ilia Topuria with Order of Honour

The Georgian Presidential Administration has announced that the ceremony to award Ilia Topuria with the Order of Honour will be held today at 7:00 p.m. at the Orbelian Palace.

The President has agreed and welcomed the decision made by the Prime Minister and the Parliament Speaker to present this honour to Ilia Topuria.

“The President invites the Prime Minister and the Parliament Speaker to attend the awarding ceremony. The participation of all three branches of government in this event underscores national unity on matters of importance,” the presidential administration emphasized.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili nominated UFC champion Ilia Topuria for the Order of Honour. Kobakhidze and Papuashvili submitted the nomination to the Georgian President.

UFC champion Ilia Topuria arrived in Georgia on March 18 upon the PM’s invitation.
