President Zourabichvili urges Diplomatic Corps to make delayed decisions to help schedule new elections

“I applied to the diplomatic corps and requested them to make all of the decisions that needed to be made for so long to assist us with the one demand: a new election,” Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili stated on Thursday.

“This is our solution, and we will fight for it,” Zourabichvili remarked.

“I convened the diplomatic corps today and informed them that the evaluations were late. Everything has been approved and is completely clear. A few minutes later, Putin acknowledged his pleasure with the situation and praised the government’s loyalty. This is proof of what is happening,” she remarked.

Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced a decision not to place the issue of opening accession negotiations with the EU on the agenda until the end of 2028. “We will also reject any budgetary grants from the EU until that time. By the end of 2028, Georgia will be economically ready to initiate negotiations for EU membership in 2030.”
