An official welcoming ceremony for Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan took place at Georgia’s Presidential Palace. Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili hosted the Armenian leader with both nations’ national anthems played in honour.

The presidents introduced their respective delegations to one another.

Following the ceremony, the Georgian and Armenian leaders are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting. A joint press conference featuring President Kavelashvili and President Khachaturyan is also planned.

President Khachaturyan arrived in Georgia, accompanied by a delegation comprising Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, Deputy Minister Arman Khozhoyan, Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Ashot Sumbatyan, Head of the Presidential Office Khachatur Poghosyan, and Member of Parliament Shirak Torosyan.
