President Kavelashvili celebrates State Flag Day: Flag of Georgia represents our freedom and unity

On State Flag Day, President Mikheil Kavelashvili took to social media to honour the significance of Georgia’s five-cross flag.

“I congratulate every citizen of our country on Georgia’s State Flag Day! Georgia’s five-cross national flag is the main symbol of our freedom, independence, unity, and strength,” he wrote.

Kavelashvili emphasized the flag’s dual significance.

“Our country’s five-cross flag is not only a manifestation of statehood but also a visible embodiment of national consciousness, pride, responsibility, and our struggle for freedom,” the President said in a social media post.

He concluded his message with well wishes for the nation, expressing his hope for “peace, unity, and national strength.”
