President Kavelashvili awards Order of the Golden Fleece to former Chinese Ambassador Zhou Qian

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili has bestowed the Order of the Golden Fleece upon Zhou Qian, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, in recognition of his personal contribution and fruitful efforts towards deepening bilateral relations between the two nations.

Owing to Zhou Qian’s absence from Georgia, the state honour was accepted on his behalf by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Dai Chunyong, during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.

President Kavelashvili highlighted the significant advancement of Georgia-China relations achieved throughout Zhou Qian’s diplomatic tenure.

Mikheil Kavelashvili emphasised the vital importance of deepening ties with the People’s Republic of China, expressing confidence that the solid foundation established in recent years will continue to strengthen the partnership between the countries.
