“Today is a special day as we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Georgian Defence Forces. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone on this momentous occasion, especially to our proud army—generals, officers, sergeants, and infantry. This day belongs to you, each courageous and dedicated soldier who serves our country and defends its independence, peace, and freedom,” said Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in Vaziani.

“Military service demands boldness, professionalism, and patriotism. Each of you exemplifies heroism and dedication, serving as the bedrock of our nation’s freedom, sovereignty, and peaceful future,” he added.

The President noted the significant advancements made in the development of the Georgian army over the past 34 years. He expressed gratitude to war veterans, who “sacrificed their best years” in the defence of Georgia’s territorial integrity and freedom and who “teach future generations the importance of loving our motherland.”

Mikheil Kavelashvili highlighted that the Georgian Defence Forces have progressively developed in line with modern standards.

“I take pride in the fact that our soldiers, equipped with new opportunities and international experience, continue the traditions and legacy of the Georgian army. Our defence forces carry an essential mission: to protect Georgia’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

As your Commander-in-Chief, I am proud that our soldiers have consistently defended their homeland with bravery. In addition to safeguarding our country, it is vital to contribute to international security, and I am pleased that our military has made a significant impact on maintaining global peace,” he stated.

The President expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Defence, the chief commanders, and all military personnel.

“Our heroic soldiers, you are the guardians of Georgia’s security and the architects of a strong, peaceful future. I wish you health, strength, resilience, and triumphs. The peaceful future of our country rests on your dedication, and I firmly believe that together, through our united efforts, we will defend and further strengthen our beloved homeland,” he concluded.
