President: Georgia will never surrender its sovereignty or its right to be independent, democratic, peaceful nation

“For us, the fundamental starting point remains the strengthening of regional and global peace, alongside an open dialogue rooted in equality, mutual respect, and the consideration of national interests,” declared the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, in his address at the “Conference of Ambassadors 2025”.

He affirmed that Georgia will never relinquish its sovereignty or its right to be an independent, democratic, and peaceful state.

“In tandem, the foremost priorities of our foreign policy are the de-occupation of our two historic regions and the policy of non-recognition. At the same time, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the approach that there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Today, we stand firm in defending our national interests. Our message is unequivocal: Georgia will never surrender its sovereignty or its right to be an independent, democratic, and peaceful nation. This is our historical duty and the foundation of our state’s very existence,” the President emphasised.

As President Kavelashvili pointed out, it is the responsibility of Georgian diplomats to safeguard and accurately represent the country’s identity, centuries-old traditions, and values on the international stage.

“In this endeavour, especially considering the challenges and opportunities we face, your role is of particular importance. The future of our nation depends on you, Georgian diplomats, to ensure that the identity of our country, our proud traditions, and our core values are protected and correctly conveyed in the global arena.

You have undertaken a mission far greater and more honourable than mere diplomatic activity; it is a duty to the history, present, and future of our nation. Remember that you represent a country and a people who never give up!

Be confident, principled, and most importantly, united. Only through unity can the voice of Georgian diplomacy be heard clearly on the international stage, a voice that resolutely and faithfully defends the interests of our homeland and its people across the world,” the President concluded.
