President: Force behind protest has no interest in close relations between GD government and EU
“The force behind the protest has no interest in fostering close relations between the Georgian Dream government and the European Union,” stated Mikheil Kavelashvili, President of Georgia, in an interview with Deutsche Welle regarding the rally outside the Georgian Parliament.
According to the President, the protest participants are organised groups receiving funding, and the events are artificially orchestrated.
“These individuals, primarily young people, are misled citizens under external influence. We rely on facts; everything is grounded in facts. The force driving the protest has no genuine interest in strengthening ties between our government and the EU member states. The events are deliberately orchestrated, influenced from abroad. None of their actions is aimed at the well-being of Georgian citizens. They are primarily funded groups led by their own organisers, who have come from abroad,” Mikheil Kavelashvili explained.
