President, FM, delegation members attend opening ceremony of Winter Olympic Games

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili and the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the XXV Winter Olympic Games at San Siro Stadium in Milan.

“I attended the opening of the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Milan alongside the President and the accompanying delegation. I wish success to the Georgian Olympic team!” wrote Maka Botchorishvili in her social network post.

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, First Lady Tamar Bagrationi and the Georgian delegation members attended the first day of the figure skating team competition at the Winter Olympic Games and supported the Georgian athletes.

The Georgian team is in fourth place after the first day of team competition at the Olympic Games.

The XXV Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo will close on February 22.

Eight athletes represent the Georgian national team at the 2026 Olympic Games. Six will compete in figure skating, while two will take to the slopes in alpine skiing.
