President denounces GD’s rhetoric

Georgia’s President Salome Zourabichvili criticised the Georgian Dream (GD) leaders for making cautious statements toward Russia, leaving society confused over the country’s direction.

Speaking to GPB First Channel’s Dgis Tema [Topic of Day] program, the President said the government slags off ambassadors and MEPs in contrast.

“It is obvious that anti-Western rhetoric is going on when there is silence toward Russia,” she said.

President Zourabichvili referred to the statement of GD Chair Irakli Kobakhidze, who accused MEP Viola von Cramon of “protecting criminals.” She also recalled GD’s lawmaker Mamuka Mdinaradze saying that “over ten MEPs were eager to open a second front in Georgia.”
