Police seize over half a kilogramme of cocaine in Tbilisi raid; suspect arrested

Officers from the Main Division of Investigation and the Main Detective Division under the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have arrested one individual on charges of illegal purchase and possession of narcotics in exceptionally large quantities.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, targeted operational activities and investigative measures led law enforcement officers to a covert cache near the suspect’s residence. Police seized more than half a kilogramme of cocaine as physical evidence and arrested the suspect at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment upon conviction.
