Police seize large quantity of drugs in Tbilisi, foreign national detained

Officers from the Old Tbilisi Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), have detained a foreign national on charges of illegal possession, storage, and trafficking of a significant quantity of drugs.

According to the MIA, during a search of the individual’s personal and residential premises, law enforcement officers uncovered a substantial amount of Methadone prepared for sale, divided into 23 packages, which has been seized as evidence.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life behind bars.
