Police seize large quantities of drugs in Adjara; Ukrainian national detained
Officers from the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) have detained a Ukrainian national, born in 1998, on suspicion of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of significant quantities of drugs.
During a search of the suspect’s personal and temporary residence in Batumi, law enforcement officers recovered a substantial amount of Methadone as evidence.
Additionally, the police confiscated materials used for packaging drugs.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
