Police seize drugs in Adjara as two foreign nationals are detained

Police in Adjara have detained two foreign nationals, identified as M.E., born in 1994, and R.A., born in 1997, on separate occasions, on charges of illegal purchase and possession of a significant quantity of drugs, as well as the illegal cultivation of a drug-containing plant.

During searches of their personal and residential premises, law enforcement officers recovered a substantial amount of illegal substances as evidence, including cocaine, MDMA, clephedrone, herbal cannabis, and dried marijuana.

Additionally, materials used for cultivating drugs were confiscated.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 265 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
