Police seize 153 packs of “Methadone” in Tbilisi; foreign national arrested
Officers from the Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), have detained a Ukrainian national, identified as B. K., born in 2006, on suspicion of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a significant quantity of narcotics. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported.
“Following a search of the defendant’s personal and residential premises in Tbilisi, patrol officers recovered 153 packs of the narcotic drug ‘Methadone,’ packaged for sale in a particularly large quantity, as evidence. Law enforcement also seized materials used for packaging the drugs,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
