Police intercept over two kilograms of illicit drugs bound for Georgia; Ukrainian citizen detained
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance have detained a Ukrainian national on suspicion of drug-related offences.
A person, identified as H.D., born in 1992, was apprehended on charges of illegally purchasing, storing, and importing a significant quantity of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances into Georgia.
During a search of the defendant’s hand luggage, law enforcement officers uncovered an exceptionally large quantity of illicit substances concealed within tins of baby formula. The haul included over 760 grams of MDMA, 762 grams of clephedrone, and more than half a kilogram of ketamine.
The investigation continues under Articles 260, 261, 262, and 263 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or a life sentence.
