The opposition Lelo party members, including Saba Buadze and Irakli Kupradze, have been detained during a protest rally near the parliament building on Friday.
Party’s youth wing protested the candidacy of Irakli Gharibashvili to the prime ministerial post.
Tensions went high after protesters attempted to write the word Slaves at the entrance of the parliament building.
Earlier today, other protesters clashed with police over tents set up in front of the parliament building. Police detained twenty for disobedience. According to the Interior Ministry, law enforcers eventually release these detainees on a promise.
