PM: We need additional efforts to finally eliminate problems facing country, Mamuka Mdinaradze, as SSSG Head, to contribute to this

“We will submit the candidacy of Mamuka Mdinaradze as Head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) to the parliament,” said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the briefing in the Government Administration.

According to the PM, Mamuka Mdinaradze has years of experience working at law enforcement agencies, which is “very important for the performance of his duties as the Head of the State Security Service.”

“We have had significant accomplishments for the last several months in fighting against crime. Important steps were made forward in the fight against corruption, drug-related crimes, and organized crime.

Although the results are impressive, we need additional efforts to finally eliminate problems facing the country, and Mamuka Mdinaradze, as SSSG Head, can make a serious contribution to this.

I am convinced that Mr. Mamuka Mdinaradze will have strong confidence from the Parliament, and I would like to wish him success in his position as the SSSG Head,” he said.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream (GD) party, will head the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG). He will succeed Anri Okhanashvili in this position.

Anri Okhanashvili has resigned as Head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG). In a statement released on social networks by the SSSG, Okhanashvili said that he would assume the duties as the Prime Minister’s Advisor on national security affairs.
