PM: US Department of Justice data shows Saakashvili, his family are hostile to state

“What can be more shameful than a former president, a simulant man who ruled the country for nine years, and his family paying millions to harm our state’s image and reputation? He is our country’s enemy,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

The PM echoed the U.S. Department of Justice’s information on the activities of ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s lobbyists, saying “The public has seen evidence of how Saakashvili’s family is hostile to our state.”

“All this comes from him (Saakashvili), forces hostile to our country are involved in this process, including members of the criminal Saakashvili family, their lobbyists, and others who are opposed to our country’s peace, stability, and economic development.

You should inquire as to where Saakashvili’s mother obtained property worth more than $100 million. Where is the multi-million dollar anti-state campaign financed, where do these undeclared millions come from, and why are they spending these millions in a hostile campaign against the state,” Garibashvili said.
