PM to EU Ambassador: Put opening of negotiations on table and I sign it today
“I would like to remind the EU ambassador – put [the issue of] opening of the negotiations on the table and I sign it today,” said Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Sunday.
“Deed Instead of blackmail – this is our stance over the issue and we are expecting a similar dignified attitude from European structures, which is an order of Georgian society,” the PM went on.
According to the Prime Minister, “It’s a lie that the Georgian authorities halted the European integration process.”
“We do not stop the European integration process but rather activate our efforts to ensure Georgia’s EU accession in 2030.
Against this backdrop, it is shameful and disturbing that the EU ambassador was also involved in the misinformation campaign by the radical opposition and its own NGOs or media outlets.
Naturally, such events seriously shake Georgian society’s confidence in European bureaucracy,” the Prime Minister noted.
