PM: Russophobic sentiments were not fostered after 2008 war; Deep State ordered agents to delay radical anti-Russian campaigns until 2022

“As a result of the crimes committed by the United National Movement regime against its own state and people, Russia occupied 20 per cent of Georgia’s territory and recognised Georgia’s historic regions as independent states,” stated Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze during a press briefing at the Government Administration.

According to the head of government, Saakashvili’s reckless gamble was a direct directive from the Deep State, whose signature strategy on the international stage is to pit nations against one another and drag them into war, while domestically radicalising societies and setting citizens against each other.

“Eighteen years have now passed since the greatest tragedy in Georgia’s recent history, the August 2008 Russo-Georgian War, yet the pain and heavy scars of those days remain unhealed. The August war claimed hundreds of lives, uprooted tens of thousands of citizens from their homes, and confronted Georgia with the even harsher reality of territorial occupation. Despite the years that have elapsed, the consequences of the war are still acutely felt, and the memory of the fallen alongside the pain of the displaced remain an integral part of our society’s collective memory and responsibility.

Naturally, no one harbours the illusion that Saakashvili and the United National Movement, who represent the Deep State’s network of agents in Georgia, took or take any step independently. In truth, Saakashvili’s gamble was a direct instruction from the Deep State, whose hallmark strategy internationally is to set countries against one another and embroil them in war, while internally radicalising society and orchestrating civil discord.

As a result, we were left with a situation desirable for the Deep State but tragic for our people and country: the loss of our heroic military personnel, police officers, and civilians; nearly 30,000 displaced citizens; over a hundred Georgian settlements trapped behind the occupation line; Russia’s recognition of Abkhazia and the so-called South Ossetia as independent; and stoked animosity between nations.

Despite this, Russophobic sentiments were not fostered in Georgia following the August 2008 war, which, of course, occurred on the instructions of the Deep State, just as the Georgian network of agents only displayed a radical anti-Russian stance in 2022, following Russia’s second invasion of Ukraine. As I noted in my letter published a few days ago, the Global War Party required the scale of today’s ongoing conflict to embroil Europe in war and to stoke Russophobia among its agents globally, including in Georgia, to the absolute highest level,” stated the Prime Minister.
