PM: Our message to partners is that relations need to be reset in all directions; this applies to U.S., EU
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, on Thursday, said, “Our main message to our partners is that relations need to be reset and improved in all directions. This applies to the United States and the European Union.”
As the head of the government noted, “During Kelly Degnan’s [former U.S. Ambassador] and Carl Hartzell’s [former EU Ambassador] tenure in Georgia, several problems and difficulties arose, although everything is subject to reset and recovery.”
“It is paramount that we take the necessary steps from the partners. We are waiting for such countermeasures and are ready for consultations on any matters.
I am confident that if the regional and global situation improves, so will our ties with the European Union and the United States.
We have high hopes that the situation in Ukraine will be resolved shortly. Ukraine needs peace, and this will be one of the factors that will contribute to improving relations with the U.S. and the EU,” Irakli Kobakhidze added.
