PM: No room for compromise on de-occupation

“We have a steadfast principled position and clear red lines, which are, of course, linked to the issue of de-occupation,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in response to questions regarding the Russian Foreign Ministry’s comments on the Russian-Georgian dialogue.

According to the Prime Minister, de-occupation is a non-negotiable red line for the Georgian government that will not be revisited or compromised.

“This is a red line for us. Naturally, this issue is not subject to any negotiation or concession. De-occupation remains a firm red line that we will not revise,” Kobakhidze affirmed.

The Russian Foreign Ministry declared that Russia is not prepared to resume political dialogue with Georgia on Georgia’s terms. They also stated that “Russia’s decision to recognise the independence of the Abkhazian and South Ossetian republics is final and irreversible.”
