PM meets President of Swiss Confederation’s National Council

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met the President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation, Irene Kelin.

The parties spoke about the close and friendly relations between Georgia and the Swiss Confederation, both in bilateral and multilateral formats. The partnership of the two countries was noted in many directions, including political, economic, parliamentary and people-to-people ties.

Georgian PM thanked the Swiss side for its firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Prime Minister once again confirmed the government’s commitment to the comprehensive policy of peaceful conflict resolution.

The conversation touched on the prospects of future cooperation and the importance of high-level meetings. In this context, the meeting of the head of the government with the president of the Swiss confederation Ignacio Cassis, which was held in New York in September of this year, within the framework of the UN General Assembly, was noted.

The meeting focused on the importance of the programs of the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC) in the direction of the socioeconomic and institutional transformation of Georgia.
