PM meets Commissioner Várhelyi

Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, met with the European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi.

As part of the PM’s visit to Brussels, the discussion centred around Georgia’s progress in the EU accession process. Irakli Garibashvili provided an overview of the government’s initiatives and efforts to address the EC’s 12 recommendations.

The PM expressed optimism that the dedicated efforts of Georgia in implementing the 12 priority reforms would be duly acknowledged in the upcoming European Commission report, leading to a positive recommendation for candidate status.

The meeting delved into key areas of cooperation between Georgia and the European Union, along with an assessment of the reforms executed by the country under the association agreement. The sides also addressed global developments and exchanged views on existing security challenges.

PM Garibashvili extended his gratitude to European Commissioner Varhelyi for his unwavering support of Georgia’s EU integration.
