PM meets Azerbaijani Energy Minister

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met Parviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister, who is paying a working visit to Georgia.

The strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, including in the areas of transport and energy, was discussed at the meeting. It was underlined that Georgia is committed to deepening regional cooperation on energy security through close interaction with Azerbaijan.

The Georgian side expressed readiness to continue making a considerable contribution to the implementation and development of transport projects as a reliable transit partner.

It was emphasized that the implementation of these strategic projects will bolster the effectiveness and security of freight transport from Asia to Europe via the Caspian and Black Seas.

Georgian PM thanked the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan for Azerbaijan’s support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and reaffirmed Georgia’s unconditional support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
