“There are individuals for whom corruption appears to be second nature, to the extent that they fail to understand why the public and the team would feel anger towards a former party leader entangled in graft,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

The Head of Government emphasised that past systemic issues, including corruption, cannot be swept aside or obscured by fake media campaigns.

“It is deeply regrettable when such developments take place within our country. There were serious problems, and no one can obscure those realities with fabricated campaigns.

There were serious problems regarding corruption. Some people clearly find corruption natural; they cannot fathom why the public and the team are outraged by specific individuals, or a former leader of the team, for becoming mired in graft.

Some fail to comprehend that corruption is wrong, or why anyone, be it the public or the party, would be angry with you for being entangled in corruption. That is their concern. Our job is to ensure that justice is served across the board,” the Prime Minister stated.
