PM Kobakhidze says Georgia plays pivotal role in promoting peace and connectivity in South Caucasus

“Georgia plays a vital role in the region, particularly in strengthening peace within the South Caucasus. The efforts of our diplomatic corps in this regard must continue,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech at the Conference of Ambassadors.

As the Head of Government underscored, Georgian diplomats serve as the voice of Georgia on the international stage.

“One of our primary objectives is to enhance our country’s connectivity and transit functions. Much progress has been made in this area this year, and there remains much to be achieved in the coming year and beyond.

I would remind you, Georgian diplomats, that you are the voice of Georgia on the global stage, a voice that must be firm, well-argued, and always focused on our national interests. This is how our diplomatic voice has been heard this year, and we are confident that our diplomatic corps will carry on with the same dedication and resolve next year.

My sincere gratitude goes to each of you. I would especially like to thank the country’s Chief Diplomat, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili, for her vital work. I also want to thank the deputy ministers, every employee of the ministry, the ambassadors, and all staff of our diplomatic missions.

Once again, I emphasise that each of you plays a crucial role in defending our national interests.

I wish you all continued success and happiness in 2026, and many achievements in the year ahead,” concluded Irakli Kobakhidze.
