PM Kobakhidze rules out major near-term cabinet reshuffles following leadership changes at SSSG, Revenue, and Investigation Services

“We do not expect any substantive changes in the near future,” declared Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze during a press briefing at the Government Administration.

According to the Prime Minister, significant structural and personnel changes were carried out across several key bodies, including the Investigation and Revenue Services, where the Minister of Finance’s recommendations were endorsed.

“I do not expect any substantive changes in the near future. Significant reshuffles have been made across several key bodies. The Investigation Service is a crucial structure operating under the Ministry of Finance, as is the Revenue Service. The Minister of Finance put forward a clear position regarding these matters, which was noteworthy, and we endorsed that stance based on the underlying arguments; key personnel changes were executed.

Furthermore, a personnel change was effected today at the State Security Service. In this instance, it reflected Mr Geka Geladze’s personal position, and Tamaz Borashvili will assume the leadership of the Security Service upon parliamentary confirmation. These are the implemented adjustments, and we do not foresee further major changes in the near future. The Minister of Culture remains to be appointed, and we will share an update regarding that appointment in due course,” Kobakhidze stated.
