“The opposition as a whole has become so weakened that they have turned entirely to infighting. This development is highly positive and fully visible to the public,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declared in response to a media question regarding the state of opposition politics.

According to the Prime Minister, whereas the Georgian people previously disliked the opposition, they now dislike one another.

“Previously, they were disliked by the Georgian electorate; now, they cannot even tolerate each other. This is an ideal state of affairs for a political force that was hitherto formally designated as an opposition, but in truth was always nothing more than a network of foreign agency,” the Prime Minister stated.
