PM Kobakhidze honours 1921 heroes, emphasising importance of daily sacrifice to protect Georgia’s sovereignty

“We pay tribute to the heroes who sacrificed themselves in 1921 during the occupation of Georgia,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Kojori, where he laid a wreath in memory of the fallen Junkers.

According to the Prime Minister, this day serves as a reminder of the vital importance of daily struggle and effort in defending the nation’s sovereignty and independence.

“We pay tribute to the heroes who sacrificed themselves in 1921 during the occupation of Georgia. They fought heroically, leaving us a true example of heroism. It is our duty to honour their memory. Today reminds us that safeguarding our sovereignty and independence requires constant effort. Our heroes set a powerful example, and we must follow it in defending our national interests, sovereignty, and independence,” the Prime Minister stated.
