PM Kobakhidze: Georgia’s leading status recognised by objective assessments, unlike politically motivated statements

“Georgia is a leading country among the candidate nations. This is an indisputable fact, clearly reflected in objective conclusions. It stands in contrast to the harsh, politically motivated remarks that politicians and bureaucrats occasionally make,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in response to questions regarding the Rule of Law Index published by the European Commission.

According to Kobakhidze, such disparities reveal double standards on the part of European bureaucrats.

“We hold advanced, leading positions across various areas, based on objective circumstances, facts, and well-founded arguments. There is no surprise in this. The rule of law in Georgia is the most protected within the region. Among the candidate countries, Georgia is a frontrunner. This is an undeniable truth, reflected in objective assessments. This stands in stark contrast to the harsh, politically motivated statements often issued by politicians and bureaucrats. These are the typical cases we frequently encounter, double standards demonstrated by European bureaucratic institutions,” the Prime Minister stated.
