PM Kobakhidze: From March 1, foreigners’ labour activities to be legally restricted; alienation of agricultural land to foreigners to be prohibited
“From March 1, the employment opportunities available to foreigners in Georgia will be significantly limited by law, accompanied by a constitutional amendment that will prohibit the alienation of agricultural land to foreigners,” stated the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze.
As he emphasised, the government assumes full responsibility for the effective implementation of this legislation.
“In 2017, our government introduced an amendment to the Georgian Constitution, which explicitly prohibits the alienation of agricultural land to foreigners. Safeguarding and preserving Georgia’s national and religious identity remains one of our most vital national priorities, and the Georgian government will do everything necessary to uphold it,” Irakli Kobakhidze added.
