“Alongside regional cooperation, international partnerships play an important role in translating conservation commitments into practical results,” Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze stated during his address at the COP17 Leaders’ Summit.

As the head of government noted, strengthening international cooperation, mobilising resources, and sharing expertise are essential to ensuring effective and sustainable biodiversity conservation.

“As we approach 2030, our priority must be to translate global biodiversity commitments into concrete and lasting achievements. This Summit offers an important opportunity to reinforce our collective determination to fulfil the objectives of the Kunming – Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and give further momentum to their implementation. Georgia remains committed to working with international partners to safeguard biodiversity, strengthen conservation efforts and ensure that the protection of nature goes hand in hand with the well-being of future generations,” Irakli Kobakhidze declared.
