PM: Foreign students contribute GEL 200 million to our economy and leave immediately after graduating, posing no demographic threat

“Foreign students contribute GEL 200 million annually to the Georgian economy, which effectively adds around GEL 300 million to the national budget at their expense,” stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

“Furthermore, more than 10,000 jobs have been created in Georgia thanks to their presence. Consequently, cancelling programmes for foreign students would result in significant losses to the Georgian economy, the budget, and employment rates,” Kobakhidze emphasised.

As the Prime Minister highlighted, the total contribution of foreign students to Georgia’s economy stands at GEL 200 million, with approximately GEL 300 million annually incorporated into the national budget at their expense.
